The excessive use of resources, population, industrial, and economic growth have been generating impacts on the environment and concerns at the political level, which is why environmental research emerges as an alternative for the implementation of sustainable policies and strategies that allow the sustainable development and growth of many countries. This study sought to analyze the European and Latin American perspectives on environmental research. A bibliographic review was carried out, identifying, and selecting scientific articles from SCOPUS and Science Direct, from the last six years, about Environmental Sciences, applying filters by keywords and publication title. The analysis showed a growing concern about the effects of massive resource consumption and environmental degradation and a strong interest in the development of science-based strategies to conserve the environment without affecting countries' economic growth and development. Technology gaps were also observed in the food, water, and energy sectors, highlighting their distribution, waste management, and carbon footprint. On the other hand, the generation of new theories allows for the broadening of approaches and their application in environmental policies. It was concluded that there is an evolution in environmental awareness and global perception of its importance, generating the need to seek science-based alternatives that promote eco-sustainable development.Descargas
