Plagiarism Policy
LACCEI Proceedings takes plagiarism, including self-plagiarism (text recycling), extremely seriously. All submissions undergo screening before publication.
Originality Requirement
All submissions must represent original scholarly work. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Plagiarism in any form
- Duplicate or concurrent submissions
- Redundant publication
- Excessive self-plagiarism
- Fabrication or falsification of data
- Manipulation of images or results
- Undeclared AI-generated content
Screening Process
All manuscripts are screened using similarity-detection software and editorial verification procedures as part of the LACCEI editorial review process.
AI-Generated Content
The use of AI tools must be disclosed in every manuscript. Submitting AI-generated text as fully human-authored research without disclosure is treated as a form of misconduct. See our Publication Ethics page for the full AI policy.
Consequences
If a violation is identified before publication, LACCEI may:
- Reject the submission
- Request clarification or revision from the authors
- Refer the matter to the authors' institution(s)
If a violation is identified after publication, LACCEI follows COPE retraction guidelines:
- Published correction notice or expression of concern
- Retraction of the article (the original remains accessible, clearly marked as retracted, with a published retraction notice)
- Notification to affiliated institutions
- Notification to indexing services
- Possible ban on submissions from the corresponding author for a defined period
Author Acknowledgment
By submitting to LACCEI, authors acknowledge that their manuscript may be screened for plagiarism and AI-generated content, and they accept the consequences described above for confirmed cases.
Reporting Concerns
To report a suspected case of plagiarism in a published paper, write to info@laccei.org with the article reference and a description of the concern.
