This page documents the copyright and licensing terms applicable to articles published in LACCEI Proceedings.
Copyright
Copyright of all articles published in LACCEI Proceedings is held by the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions (LACCEI). Authors transfer copyright to LACCEI as a condition of publication, through the electronic copyright assignment agreement at laccei.org/copyright-laccei-papers.
License: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0
As copyright holder, LACCEI distributes the articles to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
What This License Allows
Readers and users are free to:
- Share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt: remix, transform, and build upon the material
Under the following terms:
- Attribution: appropriate credit must be given to the author(s) and to LACCEI Proceedings, with a link to the license and an indication of any changes made.
- NonCommercial: the material may not be used for commercial purposes.
- ShareAlike: if the material is remixed, transformed, or built upon, the contributions must be distributed under the same license as the original.
Author Rights Retained
Per LACCEI's copyright transfer agreement, authors retain the right to:
- Reuse portions of their paper in other works
- Reproduce the paper for personal or internal use, provided that the source and LACCEI copyright are indicated, the copies are not used in a way that implies LACCEI endorsement, and the copies are not offered for sale
- Share their published article on personal and institutional websites
- Deposit the published version in institutional or subject repositories
Republication by others requires the consent of the first-named author. Reuse for promotional or marketing purposes requires the consent of the authors or their employers.

Third-Party Material
Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for third-party material (figures, tables, extended quotations) included in their submissions.
Effective Date
This licensing policy is effective for all articles published in LACCEI Proceedings, including the historical archive.
