This study focuses on the problem of increasing workplace accidents in the Peruvian mining sector, despite its economic importance. The aim is to implement the SGSST to reduce accidents in a contractor company in the mining sector in Peru, 2023. This work adopts a quantitative and applicative approach, complemented with a pre-experimental design, and is carried out in the population of the company's workers. The results reveal an initial non-compliance with occupational health and safety standards, but the implementation of the SGTSS leads to a significant reduction in accidents, with only one incident in 388,248 man-hours worked. The study covers an analysis of the current situation, the design and implementation of the SGTSS, and an evaluation of the results, highlighting the urgent need to address these challenges in the Peruvian mining industry through the effective implementation of health and safety management systems in the jobDownloads
