Abstract

This work was developed with the objective of implementing the engineering tool in a SME dedicated to the car wash service in the city of Lima, Peru. The development of the work had an initial diagnostic stage, where the problem of unscheduled stops caused by failures in equipment such as compressors, hoses of hydro-washers and vacuum cleaners was identified. Currently, the company loses 13.5 operating hours per month and S/. 7,475 in labor costs. For the solution of this, two alternatives were proposed: preventive maintenance and autonomous maintenance, which were evaluated based on realistic constraints, to later select the most appropriate to solve the problem identified in the company. The selected tool was Autonomous Maintenance with a cost of S/. 2,500 and an implementation time of 9 weeks, then the results were compared with their own engineering standards to determine their impact. Finally, a six-month reduction of S/. 23,724.23 in costs and at the same time the impact of the implementation of the developed tool was evaluated, obtaining an IRR of 54%, a NPV of S/. 3,362.78 and a B/C of 1.97. This improvement proposal seeks to generate a replicable study model supported by linear regression calculations.
