Plastic waste is a current problem that generates environmental pollution, which is why an innovative design of a plastic crusher for sustainable cities was presented since it is essential to develop circular economies and reuse plastic waste. The 3D model of an axis was produced with SolidWorks. Static and high-cycling fatigue analyses were performed in this study in ANSYS Workbench software to validate the proposed design. During the grinding operation, the grinding tool is subjected to cyclical loads that vary over time, through finite element analysis. The results of the ANSYS finite element analysis (FEA) of the crushing tool had a maximum stress of 46.3 MPa in the static analysis. and a safety factor of 5.4, however, in the high cycle fatigue analysis a lower safety factor was obtained than in comparison with the static analysis, with a value of 1.86, taking into account that the fatigue resistance limit is lower than the yield strength in the static regime, since the Marín factors were considered in the fatigue regime. It is concluded that the grinding tool is validated pre-experimentally, so this guarantees that the machine will work correctly and safely.Downloads
