The main purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of the educational approach offered by ILVEM on the development of reading skills, both in speed and comprehension, among students enrolled in a private university institution in Trujillo during the year 2023. The methodology adopted is framed within a quantitative approach with a descriptive-explanatory scope, using a pre-experimental design. The sample comprised a total of 45 students from this institution, and tools such as the ILVEM Evaluation system, a mechanical stopwatch and a specific evaluation test were used for data collection. Preliminary results indicated that, prior to the introduction of the ILVEM method, most of the students presented a reading speed considered slow, with a percentage of 91%, while the reading comprehension level was mostly in the low literacy range, representing 31%.After the application of the ILVEM method, a decrease in the percentage of students with a slow reading speed was observed, which stood at 58%. However, there was a significant increase in the level of reading comprehension, particularly in the high inference segment, which reached 38%.Descargas
