Resumen

The current study examines the relationship between achievement motivation and entrepreneurial intention, focusing on the moderating role of gender in the Peruvian context. Using stratified sampling, data from 286 individuals from the Lambayeque population were collected, employing a Likert scale to measure variables such as business intention and achievement motivation. Hayes' PROCESS macro (version 2.6) was applied to examine moderation and mediation relationships. The results reveal that achievement motivation explains 18.05% of the variability in entrepreneurship and has a significant direct effect on entrepreneurial intention, with this effect being more pronounced in women than in men. These findings suggest the need for differentiated approaches to foster entrepreneurial intention based on gender, highlighting the importance of business interventions that consider these differences. The implementation of inclusion policies and specific support programs is recommended, as well as the adaptation of entrepreneurial training to address the different needs and challenges faced by entrepreneurs of different genders.
