This research addresses the search for sustainable solutions in the field of construction coatings. Traditionally, varnish has been crucial for protecting and beautifying structures, but its environmental impact and strong odors have raised concerns. In this context, an innovative alternative is proposed: varnish based on dairy products. The main objective is to design a sustainable varnish based on dairy products to be used on masonry and wood walls in the town of Cajamarca (Peru). The underlying motivation lies in the growing demand for green solutions in the construction industry. The methodology is based on a quantitative approach, using laboratory tests and ASTM standards to measure properties such as water resistance, adhesion, viscosity and durability. The results obtained are promising. Both cow's milk and artisan yogurt-based varnishes proved viable in providing high-quality color and finishes on wood and masonry wall substrates, suggesting their suitability for various applications. Although they face challenges in terms of applicability, they represent a significant step towards a more sustainable future in the construction industry.Descargas
