Resumen

The purpose of this research work was to determine the Structural Control and Location of Mineralizing Fluids in the El Gigante Deposit; For this, the main geological structures that control mineralization within the deposit must be identified. The methodology of the present study consists of describing, analyzing, deducing and explaining the detailed structural characteristics of faults, fractures and vein-faults found in the study area and their relationship with mineralization. The entire deposit is highly fractured, where the inverse dextral fault called Huinchus with orientation N35°W /77°E was identified, the same one that exercises the main structural control, with the best veins and greatest mineralization found near said structure and in the veins that have the NW - SE direction, which are located at the limit of the intrusive and the Chota formation; The main structure in question has generated a marked NNW to NW fracturing pattern recognized at the local and district level. The pre-existing faulting and fracturing zones within the intrusive have acted as channels for the circulation of hydrothermal fluids, generating veins of gold, quartz and pyrite.
