Application of allometric equations for the sale of carbon credits from the reforestation of Cerro Piñujo, Huarmaca district in Peru

Considering the Paris Agreement by the UN, the carbon credits generated by the reforestation of the Mirador Cerro Piñujo were determined, this was possible through the application of the Allometric equations and Strand and quadrant techniques, as well as national and international experiences; the samples correspond to the study population, that is 22 trees of Patula Pine planted in 2015 and 2019 and Radiata Pine from 2005, as well as 44 trees of Patula Pine planted in 2018 and 9 trees of Cypress from 2005. Resulting that this reforestation captures per year 5113.71 tons of CO2, which valued at 50 US dollars per ton per year according to the World Bank [1], resulted 255. 667.50 US dollars, demonstrating a great economic opportunity for the district municipality of Huarmaca, owner of this reforestation, the same that can achieve by these revenues double in the coming years according to the World Bank and having the said municipality vast tracts of land, should continue with reforestation and use them for these purposes and at the same time to contribute against climate change and sustainable development of its people.Descargas
