Resumen

The objective of this research is to determine the influence of the incorporation of marmolina waste on the compressive strength of structural concrete. The research is applied, with descriptive level and experimental design. The pertinent tests were carried out in the concrete laboratory, determining that the aggregates used comply with the established standards. Subsequently, the mix design was made for a concrete f'c=210 kg/cm2 using the ACI method, adding 5%, 10% and 15% marmolina residues to the mix according to the weight of cement. At 7 days, the average strength of the standard concrete was 165.13 kg/cm², while for the samples with marmolina it was lower, with an average of 158.89 kg/cm² for 5%, 157.95 kg/cm² for 10%, and 154.89 kg/cm² for 15%. Over time, the strengths increased, but still remained below the target. In conclusion, the study reveals that its use may result in a short-term strength reduction. It is suggested that this type of concrete could be considered as a retarding material, which would reach the desired strength after a longer curing period.
