Systematic review on the inclusion of technological tools in the health sector supply chain

Resumen

This research project analyzes the incorporation of technological tools and their impact on supply chain efficiency in the health sector. The methodology used was qualitative research, based on a systematic literature review with exhaustive searches in electronic databases such as Scopus and ScienceDirect. The keywords were defined using the PICOC tool, which allowed the identification of 63 articles that met the inclusion criteria established in the PRISMA diagram. Through bibliometric analysis, the concepts and applications of technological tools were explored, as well as their main advantages, challenges and adoption barriers. The results showed positive impacts, such as improved demand prediction, optimization of inventory management, strengthening of trust between partners, and an increase in transparency and traceability of medical products. However, obstacles were also identified, such as lack of awareness, resistance to technological change, lack of government policies, financial limitations and concerns about information privacy. Likewise, a growing adoption of emerging technologies was observed, with artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology standing out as the most used independently. In addition, a trend towards technological integration was identified, with the combination of IoT and blockchain being the most relevant. Finally, the main barriers to the adoption of these technologies in the Peruvian context were evaluated.
