Abstract

A methodology for the design of a static pressure test bench, to verify the absence of leaks and physical damage in drinking water meters", has as a general objective to apply the design engineering method of Michael French, to design a static pressure test bench to verify the absence of leaks and physical damage in drinking water meters and as specific objectives: Determine the technical parameters, the selection of components and instruments of the test bench to meet the requirements of the verification procedure of drinking water meters from the National Quality Institute. Also make the plans and an operation manual of the test bench. The research is of the descriptive-applicative type because a solution to the problem was sought, using the design methodology of Michael French, where the analysis of the problem was carried out, formulating the need in terms of functions and sub-functions, the conceptual design where a variety of solutions to the problem, the representation of schemes where the most promising solutions were represented as sketches and the development of detail where a memory of the design of all the parts was made; All this was improved by carrying out a bibliographic review of books, articles, research projects, manufacturers' technical sheets and others. The final design of a static pressure test bench was obtained as results to verify the absence of leaks and physical damage in drinking water meters under controlled operating conditions, the equipment plans and the operation manual. It is concluded that using a design methodology helps to establish in an orderly and structured way the steps to make an optimal machine, according to the client's needs.
