Proceedings of the LACCEI International Multi-Conferences

“The Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions, LACCEI”, is a non-profit organization consisting of institutions that offer academic programs in Engineering and Technology with the goal of collaborating with other LACCEI partners. The word “institution” includes universities, colleges and schools.

In 2025, the LACCEI International Multiconference on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Regional Development (LEIRD 2025) was held under the theme “Entrepreneurship with Purpose: Social and Technological Innovation in the Age of AI.”

The conference was organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions in a hybrid format in Cartagena, Colombia, hosted at Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar (UTB), Manga campus, from December 1 to 3, 2025. The event brought together academics, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and policymakers from Latin America, the Caribbean, and beyond.

LEIRD 2025 focused on fostering entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, and regional development through the integration of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and their application to societal challenges. The conference served as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the development of strategies to strengthen institutional and regional capabilities in innovation and technology transfer.
