Resumen

This systematic review aims to synthesize the current evidence on the relationship between electronic document management systems and organizational efficiency, specifically considering its application in the context of software development. The method consisted of a rigorous review of scientific literature in the Scopus database, applying strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results found show that the implementation of these systems has a mostly positive impact, according to the 14 studies analyzed, by facilitating access to critical operational information, streamlining processes and reducing administrative costs. However, some research also reveals moderate effects and inconsistencies in the reported benefits, which is attributed to methodological and contextual differences between studies. These discrepancies highlight the need for further research to understand the moderating factors that maximize the effectiveness of these technological implementations and their transformative effect on institutional efficiency. The conclusions provide concrete recommendations for both improving research in this area and optimizing the adoption of these solutions in organizational practice.
