Resumen

Logistics and supply chain management are processes that determine the effectiveness and efficiency of productive activities, so it is important to determine the impact that these processes have on the provision of health services. Methodology: A narrative review of the literature was carried out in 4 databases and a metasearch engine, in English and Spanish. The information was organized into analysis matrices to identify information relevant to the research. Results: 37 articles were selected for the review. According to the convergences and main themes, they were established in four main points: costs in the supply chain, logistics in the supply chain in a pandemic, medication management in hospitals and management in operating rooms and industries. Conclusions: Logistics and supply chain are important factors for the adequate provision of health services. Supply chain management is a substantial part of hospital processes that allows for correct traceability of hospital supplies and offering safe care to users.
