Bibliometric Analysis of University–Industry Technology Transfer in Carbon Capture and Utilization Technologies: Trends and Perspectives

University–industry technology transfer plays a strategic role in advancing carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technologies to meet global decarbonization and sustainability goals. However, significant gaps persist in academia–industry collaboration, especially in Latin America, where joint solution development is still limited. This study analyzes scientific trends, key actors, and emerging perspectives on technology transfer applied to CCU through a bibliometric mapping of 132 Scopus-indexed publications from 1996 to 2025. Using Bibliometrix and VOSviewer, the study explores co-authorship networks, thematic evolution, and institutional distribution. Results show a steady increase in publications since 2010, peaking in 2024, with major contributions from China, the United States, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. Dominant research areas include energy, engineering, and environmental sciences, while frequently used keywords are technology transfer, carbon dioxide, and carbon capture. The thematic analysis reveals a shift from technical approaches toward more integrative frameworks centered on sustainability, international cooperation, and intellectual property. Although the field has reached considerable technical maturity, further development of collaborative networks and institutional mechanisms is critical to accelerating the global implementation of low-carbon technologies.Descargas
