Barriers to the Adoption of Accessible and Non-Polluting Technology Among Residents of a Peruvian Province

The assessment in Trujillo reveals key barriers to solar energy adoption, such as high installation and maintenance costs, lack of financing, and low perception of benefits. Supportive policies are needed to improve access and clarify advantages. The research was conducted using a basic research type with a quantitative-descriptive approach. The findings indicate that the main obstacles perceived by the population of Trujillo in harnessing solar energy are related to both initial and ongoing economic barriers, as well as the lack of accessible financing and high-interest rates. In conclusion, the assessment in Trujillo highlights barriers to solar energy: 27.2% consider installation costs to be high, 28.3% cite maintenance costs, 30.4% point to a lack of financing, 29.3% mention high-interest rates, and 28.3% do not perceive a significant reduction in their bills. Supportive policies are required.Downloads
