Proposal for a new diagram for method engineering: Bottleneck diagram

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to develop and propose a new tool which can be used within the field of methods engineering. Currently, methods engineering has a very wide range in the use of diagrams and graphs for the study and mapping of processes, however, this study explains that there is a need for a tool that is capable of visually, easily identifying and quickly eliminate bottlenecks within a process.
