Abstract

Wearable technology or wearable represents a new generation since it paves the way for the implementation of intelligent devices of body shape that, through their design, and various features give the user a greater value of coupling to their daily activities, and monitoring indicators related to their health in real-time. In addition, in recent years there has been a noticeable interest in the use of this technology by medical centers to monitor their patients through these devices. Hence, the objective of this work is to determine the appropriate method for capturing data from these wearable devices that allow the collection and visualization of indicators for the follow-up of patients who require constant monitoring. To this end, a review of the state of the art was developed based on the research and work carried out, as well as the technological advances of these devices. Then, a survey was elaborated and applied to adults to know their interest and knowledge about this technology and if they would agree to use it to contribute to the monitoring of their health. As a result of these investigations and surveys, a comparative table shows how this technology has progressed; and the methods implemented over the years to obtain the data collected by the Smartwatch and thus be visualized by the experts. The prototype developed will be of great impact for the medical center since it will be able to centralize and visualize the activity of their patients daily.
