Resumen

The UN indicates that by 2022, 99% of the world's population will be breathing air that exceeds the air quality limits established by the WHO, endangering our health; therefore, the objective of this research was to evaluate the air quality due to PM2.5 and PM10 emissions in the Santa Luisa housing development in the district of San Martin de Porres in 2023. A quantitative methodology was used - non-experimental with longitudinal design, the techniques were non-experimental field observation and documentary analysis; and air quality monitoring was carried out for 5 continuous days with 2 monitoring points. As results, concentrations for PM10 fluctuated between 15 and 16.8 ug/m3 for point CA-01, and for point CA-02, concentrations ranged between 17 and 22 ug/m3 ; and for PM2.5 between 57 to 62.1 ug/m3 and 65 to 76 ug/m3 for CA-01 and CA-02 respectively. Finally, it was concluded that the present urbanization has an acceptable atmospheric quality in relation to PM and is within the ECAs for air; in addition, the health of the general population is not affected.
