Resumen

The purpose of this report is focused on determining the efficiency of Bentonite clay as a coadjuvant of Aluminum Sulfate for the reduction of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in wastewater from the textile industry. Regarding the methodology, an experimental approach with a quantitative design was adopted. The experiment was organized around the use of Bentonite as an coadjuvant to Aluminum Sulfate, with three different configurations, each repeated four times. The first treatment involved combining 10 grams of Bentonite with 20 grams of Aluminum Sulfate, the second treatment consisted of 15 grams of both components, and finally, the third treatment was carried out using 20 grams of Bentonite and 10 grams of Aluminum Sulfate. The results revealed that the second treatment, with 15 grams of Bentonite and 15 grams of Aluminum Sulfate, exhibited the highest efficacy, reaching a level of 77%. This study concludes that Bentonite is effective as a coadjuvant of Aluminum Sulfate, with a dosage of 15 grams for each component, for the reduction of physicochemical parameters in wastewater from the textile industry.
