Resumen

The review of the articles found focuses on the application of Lean Manufacturing tools aimed at continuous improvement and applied in order to minimize waste in the production process of companies, seeking to generate value for the product and the organization; since companies face different problems by not having an installed capacity adequate to what is established; such as poor infrastructure planning, poor distribution and untrained personnel, this causes waste to be generated in any company such as; overproduction, waiting times, inventory, movement, transportation, defect and over processing, which tends to result in the deficiency of its production process, low product quality and additional production cost. Our objective with this research, based on a systematic review of the literature, seeks to analyze small and medium-sized companies in the industrial sector that apply the Lean Manufacturing methodology and what impact its application had on waste reduction and process improvement. It is therefore evident that the use of Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, VSM, Poke yoke, TPM, Kaisen and JIT reduce waste in a range of 9.6% to 97.71% improvement. For this reason, an RSL was proposed to understand how Lean Manufacturing practices can increase operational efficiency and minimize waste
