Abstract

This study examines the experiences of engineering students with virtual education during 2020-2022, highlighting a complex mix of challenges and benefits that underscores the demands of adapting to this educational format. Significant issues reported include perceived complexity of subjects, excessive assignments, insufficient explanations during classes, technological and connectivity issues, and a lack of appropriate tools for virtual teaching. Contrarily, many students positively value the flexibility and autonomy of virtual learning, such as real-time access to information, learning at one's own pace, and managing study from home. The findings suggest a diverse and subjective virtual educational experience, emphasizing the need for higher education institutions to enhance technological infrastructure, train educators for virtual modes, and adapt teaching strategies to meet student needs.
