Digital Preservation Policy
LACCEI Proceedings is committed to the long-term preservation and availability of every paper it publishes. We participate in distributed digital archiving networks that guarantee that content remains accessible even if this website becomes unavailable.
Preservation Networks
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
LACCEI Proceedings deposits its content in the PKP Preservation Network, a free preservation service operated by the Public Knowledge Project. PKP PN uses LOCKSS technology to create distributed copies of the journal's content across multiple geographically dispersed servers. Deposits occur automatically as new content is published.
LOCKSS
LACCEI Proceedings supports LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a distributed archiving system among participating libraries that creates permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
CLOCKSS
LACCEI Proceedings also supports CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS), a community-managed archive that ensures content remains permanently accessible to the scholarly community.
Persistent Identifiers
Every article published in LACCEI Proceedings receives a permanent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered with Crossref. DOIs guarantee a stable, long-term URL for citing the article, independent of changes in hosting infrastructure.
Open Access and Reuse
All content is published under a Creative Commons license (see our Licensing Policy), which permits redistribution, archiving, and reuse subject to the license terms. Authors and readers are free to deposit copies of articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, and personal websites with appropriate attribution.
Backup and Recovery
LACCEI Proceedings maintains regular backups of the journal database, article files, and metadata. Backups are stored in geographically distinct locations to protect against localized failures.
Trigger Events
Should LACCEI cease publication or this website become unavailable, the deposits held in PKP PN, LOCKSS, and CLOCKSS guarantee that the content will remain accessible through the participating preservation networks.
