A Systematic Review of the Lean Model Manufacturing in the Supply Chain of the Metal-Mechanical Companies

Metal-mechanical companies, driven by the need to remain competitive, resort to implementing the Lean Manufacturing (LM) methodology in the supply chain to increase productivity and optimize processes. This article aims to identify and analyze the benefits and limitations that arise when applying LM tools. A systematic literature review was carried out between 2013 to 2023, using the PICO strategy and prism method to formulate the main question and four additional questions for developing the RSL. 25 articles were collected using the exclusion and inclusion criteria of the Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE, ScienceDirect, and Emeraldcon databases. The results of implementing LM were a 40% increase in productivity and 5% less waste in the processes. It is concluded that Lean Manufacturing tools which are Lean Six Sigma, 5S, JIT, PDCA, Kanban, and TPM, seek to eliminate waste, and improve efficiency and productivity in the supply chain.Descargas
