Resumen

The aim of this systematic review, carried out under the PRISMA methodology, is to investigate the use of the enzymatic method for wastewater treatment, specifically in the textile sector, to find out its benefits and performance for bioremediation. Studies in pre-treatment, laundry and dyeing were considered in order to find the highest degree of decomposition of pollutants in their wastewater. Eighty-eight articles were analysed in which the main area studied was the dyeing area, where the highest percentage of remediation resulted from the use of enzymes from bacteria and fungi, which means that these enzymes are more efficient in terms of decolourisation. Therefore, the articles mention aspects such as definition of enzymes, main pollutants, parameters considered, research areas and results of wastewater decolourisation. Finally, an emphasis is developed on the use of the enzymatic method as an ecological alternative for the decontamination of wastewater in the textile sector.
