STUDY CASE: ROBOT SELECTION BASED ON SIMULATIONS AND FINANCIAL INDICATORS

Businesses specializing in the production of cookies and breads, packaged in plastic bags, rely on manual labor to box these goods for distribution, despite substantial automation in their production systems elsewhere. This study aims to evaluate the economic implications of introducing industrial robots into such manual processes, focusing on financial metrics through a quantitative analysis of a specific case. Financial indicators including NPV, AUC, Payback, and IRR are utilized for this evaluation. Findings reveal a potential scenario wherein substitution of an operator with robots could enhance production capacity by 200%. Empirical evidence suggests that the introduction of robots does not lead to unemployment. However, the level of education significantly influences job creation, emphasizing the need for countries to prepare for process automation, as demonstrated by the experiences of nations like Japan, China, and Singapore.Downloads
