Systematic literature review of the sources of contamination in printing processes in the printing industry.

Abstract

The printing industry, as well as other industries, causes a negative impact on the environment due to the use of inputs that affect the environment, and in turn, its processes generate polluting waste. The objective of this literature review is to identify the processes and inputs that cause negative environmental impact and to raise awareness about the use of these polluting chemical inputs and to suggest the implementation of methods for the reduction of environmental deterioration, thus reducing the level of pollution in the printing industry. For the literature review, the PICO question was used as a methodology and the PRISMA statement was used to complement the literature selection. The results of the research showed the sources and types of pollution produced by printing presses. It was concluded that the printing industry causes a negative environmental impact on the atmosphere, soil and water pollution during the development of production processes.
